Youth Wrestlers Busy Throughout the Month of December

The youth wrestlers have been busy throughout the month of December kicking off the 2009-2010 tournament season on the right foot.

Starting things off Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Shaler Open Tournament Gage Curry doubled up and took 1st place at 12-U 75lbs and 4th place at 120U 80lbs. Also competing at Shaler were Keagan Lawson, Hunter Homic, Shawn Bright and Michael Knupfer.

The following weekend the youth wrestlers were off to the Chartiers Valley Christmas Open and Novice Tournaments. On Saturday, Gage Curry once again took 1st place at 12-U 75lbs and a 3rd place finish at 15-U 80lbs. Also competing at the Chartiers Valley Open Touranments was Hunter Homic, 10-U 75lbs. Hunter finished the day with a record of 1-2.

Braving the icey conditions on Sunday morning, we had seven wrestlers attend the Chartiers Valley Novice Tournament all brining home hardware. Timmy Legler, 6-U 55lbs was the lone champion that day followed up with 2nd place finishes from Nathaniel Lucus, 6-U 45lbs, Max Badamo, 8-U 60lbs and Joey Veneziale, 8-U 80lbs. Jeremy MacPherson, 8-U 55, John MacPherson, 10-U 75, Andrew Rihel, 10-U 85/90 all brought home 4th place finishes as well.

North Hills youth wrestler Gage Curry (12U-75 pounds, 2nd place) earned All-State honors on Saturday at the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling state championship tournament held at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Youth Wrestler Hits the Road in the Month of December

Youth wrestler, Gage Curry, traveled over 1400-miles over the past two weeks to compete at the Prodigy Duals in Springboro, OH and the VAC National Holiday Duals in Hampton, VA.
