Youth Wrestlers In Action Over the Holiday Break

Eight North Hills youth wrestlers were in action at local tournaments over the holiday break.

Saturday, December 26, 2009, the MacPherson brothers Jeremy and John had another great showing at the 2009 Winter Storm Wrestling Tournament. Jeremy, 8-U 55, finished 2nd and John, 10-U 70, finished 3rd. Jeremy also walked away with a $25 gift card to Game Stop for recording the fastest pin in the 8-U division at 14-seconds.

Saturday, January 2, 2010, Gage Curry and Sean Bright attended the 2010 North Allegheny Young Guns Tournament. Considered to be one of the toughest tournaments in the state, Curry, 12-U 75, dropped a hard fought overtime lose in the semi-finals then wrestled back for a 3rd place finish.

Saturday, January 3, 2010, we had 6-wrestlers take home hardware from the 2010 North Allegheny Tigers Novice Tournament. John MacPherson, 10-U 70, was our only champion of the day followed by Joey Venezaile, 8-U 80, and Kasey Brenneman, 12-U 75, both with 2nd place finishes. Timmy Legler, 6-U 55, and Jeremy MacPherson, 8-U 55, both finished the day in 3rd place rounded out by a 4th place finish by Cory Harris, 12-U 70.
