North Hills Duals

This past weekend, the North Hills Indians hosted the 13th annual North Hills Wrestling Duals. The Indians entered the weekend looking to gain valuable experience that will help prepare them for the weeks to come.

The Indians started the day off strong with a 31-28 victory over the Upper Saint Clair Panthers. Throughout their dual against the Panthers, the Indians showed great poise by coming from behind and winning the final four bouts to finish the match strong.

In the second round, the Indians' competition became tougher. The Indians faced Jefferson Morgan who is the 4th ranked AA WPIAL team. The Indians only managed to win 3 matches throughout the dual, and Jefferson Morgan earned an easy 50-17 victory over the Indians.

Things became even more challenging in the third dual of the day as the Indians took on the number 2 ranked team in the WPIAL, the Belle Vernon Area Leopards. The Leopards went on to deal the Indians their second loss of the duals with a score of 56-10.

Next up, the Indians wrestled the returning North Hills Duals Champions, the Kiski Area Cavaliers. The Indians battled tough in many of their individual match-ups, but Kiski Area defeated the Indians 55-9 with 11 individual wins.

As the Indians approached their 5th and final bout of the duals, they hoped to bounce back from 3 losses by 3 of the WPIAL's best teams. The Indians' final bout of the day was against the Avonworth Lopes. They closed out the day with a strong performance by beating Avonworth by a score of 57-9.

The North Hills Indians had a very challenging day of competition wrestling a few of the WPIAL's best wrestling teams. The Indians' final record for the duals was 2-3, awarding them a 4th place finish. Not too bad for a young team searching for their identity. It was a fun day with many opportunities for the Indian wrestlers to gain valuable experience that will help guide them throughout the rest of the season.

The Indians will be back in action Wednesday, December 17th at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School. The journey continues....

"There is no one giant step that does it, it's a lot of little steps that get you there".

Train Like a CHAMPION...Wrestle Like a CHAMPION...Act Like a CHAMPION!!!
