Double Duty for the Indians this Week
North Hills vs. Mars
North Hills wrestled an outstanding match this past Monday against Mars’ Fighting Planets. The Indians not only won the dual with a score of 71-6, but the 6 points they gave up were only due to a forfeit at the 106lb weight class.
After Mars gave up 4 forfeits the Indians continued to add to their lead with 6 pins, Bright (285), MacPherson (120), G. Curry (126), Mankey (145), and Badamo (152) all pinned their opponents within the second period of their individual matches. Junior Keagan Lawson (138) pinned his wrestler just over a minute into his match.
Also contributing to the victory over Mars was Fotta (113) with a 6-1 decision, Corbin (132) with a 21-6 tech fall, and Sophomore Jake Stotz who earned a 7-2 decision in over time.
North Hills vs. Plum
On Wednesday North Hills hosted senior night and an important section match against Plum High School. The Indians earned their second victory in a one week period defeating the Mustangs in a tight match with a final score of 34-29.
After wrestling tough in the first two periods of his match Senior David Badamo (152) pinned his opponent in the third period. Also winning their matches with falls were Nathan Mankey (145) and Keagan Lawson (138). Sophomores Sean Bright (285) and Jake Stotz (160) both won their matches by decision, Sean with a score of 4-1 and Jake 7-6. Junior Gage Curry beat his opposing wrestler with a score of 14-2 earning the team points for a major decision.
The Indians will travel to Hampton High School next Wednesday to take on the Talbots at 7pm. The journey continues…
